Saxo Bank Japan to Provide After-Hour Trading Service from November 1

Saxo Bank Securities (Saxo Bank Japan), the Japanese unit of Copenhagen-based multi-asset trading and investing platform Saxo Bank, will offer after-hour trading from Wednesday, November 1, 2023, allowing foreign securities trading, individual stock CFD trading, and CFDs on other securities listed on major U.S. stock exchanges to be traded outside of normal trading hours.
After-hours trading allows investors to engage in trading activities before and after the regular trading hours, known as the pre-market and after-market sessions. By taking advantage of this opportunity, clients can potentially profit from sudden changes in stock prices caused by financial events, big news, or earnings announcements.
However, it is important to note that after-hours trading carries certain risks. There is a chance that not all orders will be executed or may be executed at unfavorable prices due to reduced liquidity resulting from fewer market participants and increased volatility leading to significant price fluctuations.
In addition to Saxo Bank Japan, a number of brokers and exchanges are seeking to extend their trading hours to cater to market needs. National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is pushing for longer trading hours in equities, while South Korea plans to extend forex trading hours next year. As for brokers, such as Interactive Brokers, a leading US-based brokerage firm, is expanding its Overnight Trading Hours service to include more products.
