Saxo Bank Reports Trading Volumes for March 2021
Danish multi-asset brokerage Saxo Bank has published its client trading volumes in March 2021, showing an increase across all metrics.
According to the published figures, the client trading of the platform totaled $393.4 billion in March, representing a 30.1% jump compared to the $302.4 billion in the prior month. The figure is also 30% above Saxo's average monthly volume of $302.9 billion in 2020.
Because trading volumes for last March came in at an exceptionally high of $496.8 billion due to the unprecedented volatility during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, the figure for March 2021 was materially less than the record March of 2020. However, this March represents Saxo's second best month since mid 2018.
In March 2021, Saxo Bank reported a rise across all asset categories. Its monthly FX volumes in March 2021 were $170.5 billion, representing a 42.3% MoM increase compared to $119.8 billion in February 2021; Equities $175.8 billion, up 27.8%; Commodities $38.8 billion, up 5%; and Fixed Income $8.3 billion, up 4%.
