Sberbank, the largest bank in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, and one of the leading financial institutions worldwide, recently announced that users can now activate a service in SberBank Online that checks their incoming calls and warns them in case of a fraudulent call.

All they need to do is access the Security section of the app via the home screen and activate Check Incoming Calls in the app settings, according to Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board.

The service is part of a comprehensive fraud prevention system designed by the bank. On top of the security tools in Sberbank Online, our clients' funds are protected by an AI-based fraud monitoring system.

The incoming call check service is available for mobile app users on Android and iOS and requires that they update the app.

Sber processes approximately 10,000 reports of attempted fraud per day. Using its proprietory phone number analysis model, Sber is creating a unique database for checking based on real cases.

The database currently contains over 600,000 unique scam phone numbers.

Stanislav also noted that clients should never provide confidential information (e.g., card numbers, SMS codes, or the three-digit security code on the back of their card) to anyone, including bank employees.
