Sberbank’s mutual funds among leaders on Russian market in August

Sberbank’s open-end mutual funds are among the highest yielding and most popular ones in the Russian market among individual customers in August 2020, according to Investfunds.
Highest yielding
Three Sberbank funds are among the top ten mutual funds with the highest yield in the Russian market in August:
- Sberbank — Global Machinery (OPIF RFI Sberbank — Globalnoye machinostroeynie) has added 10.74% in August. It enables customers to invest in stocks of machinery companies, which produce a wide range of goods from fast-moving consumer goods to military equipment.
- Sberbank — Global Internet (OEMF RFI Sberbank – Globalny Internet) has appreciated 9.24%. It enables customers to invest in the most attractive web-related entities across the globe.
- Sberbank – S&P500 (SBSP) (BPIF RFI Sberbank – S&P500) grew by 8.9% (yield is denominated in ruble). It is an ETF that include shares of the main US stock market S&P500 index. This is the only Russian ETF that purchases shares of the index directly and doesn’t invest in the S&P500 index via foreign ETFs. You can buy shares of the ETF via the Sberbank Investor app.

The following Sberbank bond funds were especially required among Russians:
- Customer invested RUB 1.4 bln in Money Fund (OEMF RFI Sberbank – Denezhny). It invests in short-term (under one year) corporate and government bonds; the longer a bond matures the less it is affected by market fluctuations
- MOEX Russia Government Bond Fund (SBGB) (BPIF RFI Sberbank – Indeks Mosbirzhy Gosudarstvennykh Obligatsiy) registered RUB 901 mln in investment. It is another ETF. It invests in a wide range of government bonds included in the MOEX index of the same name. According to the Moscow exchange, this is the largest ETF in Russia (as of August 31, 2020).
- Dollar-Denominated Bonds (OPIF RFI Sberbank – Dollaroviye Obligatsii) welcomed RUB 891 mln in investment. You can invest in the fund using the discretionary management strategy called Russian Bonds (USD). The fund is among the most popular funds for the entire year.
