SBI Holdings, Inc. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SBI Ventures Asset Pte. Ltd., has signed a letter of intent with Singapore-based Holdbuild Pte. Ltd. to invest in the Coinhako Group and acquire shares from certain existing shareholders.

Through the proposed transaction, SBI Group intends to obtain a majority stake in Coinhako. Upon completion, Coinhako is expected to become a consolidated subsidiary of SBI Holdings.

Headquartered in Singapore, Coinhako operates in the digital asset sector primarily through Hako Technology Pte. Ltd., a Major Payment Institution licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Alpha Hako Ltd., a registered virtual asset service provider regulated by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission.

The transaction forms part of SBI Group’s broader digital asset strategy. The companies stated that the combination of Coinhako’s operational experience and digital asset infrastructure with SBI’s financial resources and international network is intended to strengthen their position in the Asian digital asset market.

SBI and Coinhako said they plan to pursue operational synergies aimed at expanding services that connect traditional finance with digital asset markets for both retail and institutional clients.

Yoshitaka Kitao, Representative Director, Chairman and President of SBI Holdings, said the transaction represents a step toward expanding global infrastructure for digital assets, including tokenized securities and stablecoins.

Yusho Liu, Co-founder and CEO of Coinhako Group, said the partnership would support the company’s expansion plans and help scale its infrastructure to meet growing demand for tokenized assets and stablecoins in Asia.
