SGX Reports S$447 Million Net Profit for the Financial Year Ended 30 June 2021

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today released its results for the financial year ended 30 June 2021 (FY21), reporting a slight growth in revenue and decline in net profit and earnings per share.

According to the results, SGX’s adjusted net profit reached S$446.9 million in FY21, which is 7% lower compared to FY20. The operating revenue for the financial year reached S$1,056.0 million, which is comparable to record revenues set in FY2020.

In FY2021, SGX continued to invest in growing its business, while exercising cost discipline. Total expenses increased 8% to S$525.2 million. In FY20, the company reported S$486.9 million total expenses. Additionally, SGX saw a decline in earning per share as the number reached 41.6 cents, which is 6% lower compared to FY20.

“In FY2021, we continued to build, partner and acquire strategically – strengthening our capabilities, products and platforms across asset classes. We achieved a strong performance as we invested in growing our business, delivering similar record revenues compared to last year amidst a challenging environment,”Loh Boon Chye, Chief Executive Officer of SGX commented.

Earlier, SGX announced that it will acquire MaxxTrader​, a leading provider of FX pricing and risk solutions for sell-side institutions, for a cash consideration of approximately $125 million.
