Shinsei International Limited (U.K.) and SBI SECURITIES to Commence Equity Business in the UK

SBI Shinsei Bank, Limited, Shinsei International Limited (SIL) and SBI SECURITIES Co., Ltd. have approved to commence equity business in the UK. SBI Shinsei Bank has become a member of SBI Group since December 2021.

The three companies have entered into a business collaboration agreement aimed at expanding the Japanese equity-related businesses and generating further synergy within the SBI Group.

According to the announcement issued by the bank, SIL and SBI Securities will provide research services on Japanese equities prepared by SBI SECURITIES to qualified counterparties and professional investors in the UK, and allow investors to directly meet with the management of Japanese share issuers to obtain more detailed corporate analysis and investment information.

In addition, SBI SECURITIES will also provide Investor Relations services for Japanese stock issuers, arranging IR interviews with eligible counterparties and professional investors located in the UK.

Through this partnership, SBI Securities will have its first European base and a third global base (the other two are in Hong Kong and Singapore), thereby connecting with a wider range of institutional investors. SBI Securities will continue to expand its business by providing information and services to overseas institutional investors with a focus on the small and mid-cap stocks that it specializes in.

SIL and SBI Securities will also be further considering launching a Japanese stock brokerage business for UK clients in the second half of this year.
