Singapore Fintech Investment Rebounds in H1 2025, Signaling Institutional Appetite for Digital Infrastructure
Singapore’s fintech sector experienced a notable rebound in the first half of 2025, attracting $1.04 billion across 90 deals. This represents the strongest mid-year investment figure since the first half of 2023 and marks an 87% increase year-on-year from H1 2024. The uptick reflects growing institutional demand for digital infrastructure, enterprise-scale payment systems, and AI-enabled operational tools.
Investment activity was concentrated in payments, digital assets and currencies, and AI/machine learning verticals, which together accounted for the majority of deal value. Payments infrastructure led investment by dollar value, totaling $475 million and nearly eight times the amount raised in the latter half of 2024. Mega-deals, including Airwallex’s $301 million raise, highlight Singapore’s strategic position as a regional hub for cross-border payment solutions and interoperable platforms. Investors are particularly focused on systems that can manage compliance, currency conversion, settlement speed, and security at scale.
Digital asset and cryptocurrency deals remained robust, with 48 deals totaling $254.1 million. This sector led by transaction count indicates continued institutional interest in regulated digital asset infrastructure, reflecting both operational resilience and compliance considerations. Companies such as Giants Planet and Coinseeker.co secured $30 million each, suggesting a trend where regulated platforms supporting enterprise-grade scalability are increasingly prioritized.
The AI and machine learning segment also reached new highs, with 22 deals raising $234.5 million. These investments targeted solutions for financial productivity, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. Institutional adoption of AI in fintech is growing as enterprises seek hyper-personalized services, predictive analytics, and automated risk monitoring. RegTech applications are also expanding, providing automated compliance and governance tools that integrate with existing financial operations.
Globally, fintech investment in H1 2025 reached $44.7 billion across 2,216 deals, reflecting the softest six-month period since early 2020. The global context underscores that institutional investors are selectively funding strategic infrastructure and technology platforms rather than broad speculative initiatives. In Singapore, the emphasis on scalable, interoperable, and regulatory-compliant solutions mirrors global priorities, with institutional stakeholders driving demand for real-time, cross-border operational capabilities.
The data suggest that enterprise-focused fintech is increasingly critical in regions like Singapore, where regulatory frameworks, market maturity, and digital adoption converge. Investors and corporate treasury teams are prioritizing platforms capable of handling complex, high-volume transactions securely, efficiently, and in alignment with compliance mandates. The first half of 2025 indicates that institutional investment is steering fintech development toward infrastructure that supports sustained operational resilience, innovation adoption, and integration with traditional financial systems.
Singapore’s fintech landscape demonstrates that payments, AI, and regulated digital assets are not merely growth areas—they represent foundational infrastructure for financial institutions, brokerages, and corporate treasuries. As institutions continue to modernize operations and adopt technology-driven workflows, Singapore’s market signals broader regional trends in enterprise-level fintech investment and infrastructure development.
