SIX Announces to Provide Local Custody Services in Spain

SIX, operating the infrastructure for the Swiss and Spanish financial centers, announced that as of mid-October 2022, all SIX SIS clients holding Spanish securities will benefit from the company's preferred service provision in Spain. The service is directly linked to the Spanish Central Securities Depository (CSD), Iberclear, enabling direct communication channels across all services, greatly speeding up operational processes.

"SIX has established this direct link to Iberclear in line with its direct market access strategy," said Stephan Hänseler, Head International Custody Operations at SIX. "This enables SIX to provide high quality transaction services, asset servicing as well as tax services based on the safekeeping of Spanish securities of its international custody clients."

The business expansion of the group is built on its solid trading performance. Earlier this month, the Swiss Stock Exchange, part of SIX Group, released key trading data for September 2022​, showing great increase both in trading turnover and number of transactions compared to the previous month.
