SIX Reports 4% M/M Drop in Trading Turnover in February 2022

SIX Swiss Exchange released its financial results for February 2022 yesterday, which witnessed drop in some key metrics.
In February 2022, trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange reached CHF 117.4 billion, 4.0% less than in the previous month, while the number of transactions decreased by 2.6% to a total of 5,676,276. The SMI® declined by 2.0% and reached 11,987.3 points at the end of the month.
The highest turnover on a single trading day was recorded on 24 February, which saw securities worth a total volume of CHF 8.2 billion changing hands. The highest number of trades was also recorded on 24 February, with 458,904. The stock that generated the highest turnover during the reporting month was NESTLE N with CHF 8.8 billion; NOVARTIS N was the most traded stock with 316,264 transactions.
In February, products with crypto currencies as underlyings reached a trading turnover of CHF 296.4 million. In total, 175 products were traded and 17,735 transactions concluded. The highest turnover and the most transactions were recorded by AETH, an ETP on Ethereum, with CHF 54.4 million and 2,042 trades.
