SIX Swiss Exchange Welcomes Global X as a New ETP Issuer

SIX Swiss Exchange yesterday welcomed Global X Digital Assets Issuer Ltd as a new Exchange Traded Products (ETP) issuer.

According to the official press release, an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) issuer at SIX since July 2021, Global X has offered 34 ETFs on the Exchange. So far, ETPs with cryptocurrencies as underlyings offered for trading at SIX Swiss Exchange total 168, and the number of ETP issuers rose to 14.

"A warm welcome to Global X Digital Assets Issuer Limited. Their newly listed ETPs have Bitcoin and Ethereum as underlyings which represent the most liquid cryptocurrencies. And with this listing we are proud being the partner of choice when it comes to listing and trading of attractive and innovative investment products," said Christian Reuss, Head SIX Swiss Exchange.

SIX noted that trading turnover came in at CHF 1.9 billion in the year to date, following a record year in 2021 for products with cryptocurrencies as an underlying on the Exchange. And the number of transactions in crypto products has totaled 127,133.

At the end of July, Fazzaco reported that Pando Asset​ listed its first crypto ETP tracking the Vinter Pando Crypto Basket 6 Index at SIX. Last month, the Exchange posted that trading turnover for August reached CHF 78.3 billion, 1.3% more than in the previous month.
