Spot FX Volumes for Major FX Trading Venues in August 2020
Initial indications are that monthly average daily volume showed mixed results for spot FX volumes in August 2020 at some of the leading institutional FX venues.
As was shown in chart below, Integral, FxSpotStream, Euronext FX and Refinitiv reported a slight increase in average daily FX trading volumes in August versus July, but Moscow Exchange and Cboe FX showed negative increase.
The details of each platform are as follows:
Moscow Exchange
In August 2020, total trading volumes across Moscow Exchange’s markets grew by 9.3% to reach RUB 75.3 trln. The average daily trading volume increased by 14.5% to RUB 3.6 trillion.
FX Market turnover was RUB 27.0 trln (August 2019: RUB 27.8 trln), with spot trades totaling RUB 6.7 trln and swap trades and forwards totaling RUB 20.3 trln.
The FX Market’s ADTV was RUB 1,287.6 bln (USD 17.4 bln), compared to RUB 1,262.8 bln (USD 19.3 bln) in August 2019.
Integral
Integral Reports Average Daily Volumes of $39.8 Billion in August 2020, an increase of 6.4% compared to July 2020, and an increase of 15.4% compared to the same period in 2019.
FxSpotStream
FXSpotStream announced volume figures for August 2020 showing an ADV of $41.163 billion, an increase of 1.85% MoM on the previous month of July 2020.
The company notes that August was the third consecutive month with an ADV over $40 billion, which is the first time this has ever been achieved by FXSpotStream.

Euronext FX Reports Average Daily Volumes of $18.945 Billion in August 2020, an increase of 6.82% compared to July 2020
Refinitiv
Refinitiv Reports Average Daily Volumes of $75 Billion in August 2020, an increase of 1 Billion compared to July 2020.
It's worth noting that two major FX trading venues, CLS and PrimeXM had not yet released August data by Fazzaco published this article.
