StanChart Hires João Galvão as Head of Trade Sales, Transaction Banking, Americas

Standard Chartered Bank (StanChart), announced yesterday the appointment of João Galvão as Head of Trade Sales, Transaction Banking, Americas, with remits of leading a team of experienced sales specialists to advise on trade and working capital needs of the Bank's clients and drive the growth strategy of the Trade Finance business in the Americas.

João boasts 25-year experience in the financial industry. He joined StanChart from Deutsche Bank, where he has spent 15 years, with multiple senior roles including Managing Director, Head of Trade Finance Structuring, Americas, and Director - Head of Financial Supply Chain, Americas. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fundação Getulio Vargas, São Paulo in Brazil.

In his new role, João will be based in New York, reporting to Bharat Padmanabhan, Global Head, Transaction Banking Sales, with regional reporting to Steven Cranwell, CEO, Americas and Regional Head, Client Coverage, Americas.
