StanChart HK Names Carlos Xia as Head of Internal Audit

Fazzaco learned that StanChart HK has selected Carlos Xia to assume the role of Head of Internal Audit, with effect on today.

Carlos Xia joined Standard Chartered Bank (China) in July 2007 as Senior Audit Manager, Consumer Banking, and has held multiple senior roles in the audit function since then. He has been Head of Audit, China, since February 2013. Prior to the bank, he has spent more 5 years at PwC as Auditor.

Carlos Xia took over the new role from Frenda Li, who has been appointed as Head of Corporate Governance, Asia, and Company Secretary, Hong Kong.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Shanghai International Studies University and is a fellow of the of Certified Public Accountant Australia, member of the China Institute of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.

Last month, Fazzaco reported that Standard Chartered Bank has launched its Greater Bay Area (GBA) Centre​, marking the completion of the US$40 million development. This underscores the bank's commitment to expand its presence in China.
