Standard Chartered and Ant International Unveil AI-Powered FX Solution

Standard Chartered and Ant International have introduced a new artificial intelligence-driven system for managing foreign exchange (FX) risk and cashflow forecasting. The solution combines Ant's Falcon Time-Series Transformer (TST) model with Standard Chartered's Aggregated Liquidity Engine (SCALE), aiming to cut hedging costs and improve risk management.
The system enables real-time data sharing and FX exposure predictions, which Standard Chartered said achieves more than 90 percent accuracy. Falcon is already processing over 60 percent of Ant International's FX-related transactions, forecasting exposures on hourly, daily, and weekly bases, and reportedly lowering FX costs by up to 60 percent.
"Our latest collaboration with Ant International sets the path for an innovative approach to managing and hedging FX risk and costs," said Madhu Menon, Global Head of SC PrismFX Sales at Standard Chartered. Kelvin Li, General Manager of Platform Tech at Ant International, added that integrating the bank's capabilities with Ant's technology enhances how businesses manage global liquidity and FX strategies.
The partnership builds on earlier blockchain-related projects and comes under the Monetary Authority of Singapore's PathFin.ai program, which promotes AI adoption in finance. Both firms said they expect to deepen their cooperation as cross-border transaction volumes increase.
