Standard Chartered Appoints David Hardoon as Global Head of AI Enablement

Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of David Hardoon to the newly created role of Global Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enablement, effective immediately. Based in Singapore, Mr. Hardoon will report to Mohammed Rahim, the Group Chief Data Officer at the bank.

Mr. Hardoon brings over two decades of experience in data and AI leadership across various sectors, including banking, advisory, government, and education. His previous experience includes a significant role in shaping Singapore's AI strategy during his time with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he focused on promoting open data flows and the adoption of AI based on Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, and Transparency (FEAT) principles within the financial sector.

In his new capacity, Mr. Hardoon will be responsible for developing AI capabilities and governance within Standard Chartered's Chief Data Office. He will also be tasked with identifying opportunities across the bank to leverage AI for enhanced value, streamlined processes, and improved client experiences.

Mohammed Rahim, Group Chief Data Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, "I am thrilled to welcome David to Standard Chartered.
