Succeeding Dominic Barton, who is now serving as Canada's ambassador to China, Zoellick will lead the diverse and multidisciplinary panel of experts whose role is to provide insight on global trends and opportunities that may affect the Group and its clients.

Mr. Zoellick served as president of the World Bank from 2007-12, where he led the effort to assist developing economies during the Global Financial Crisis. He held various posts in the U.S. Government over three administrations, including U.S. Trade Representative, Deputy Secretary of State, Counselor to the Secretary of Treasury, and Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House.

Group Chairman José Viñals said: “Input from the International Advisory Council has been an enormous benefit to the Group as we navigate through the uncharted waters of 2020. I am pleased to welcome our new members and honoured that a leader of Bob Zoellick’s stature has agreed to chair the council.”

In addition, the Group has also appointed as IAC members Stephanie Carullo, chief operating officer of U.S. cloud content and file sharing company Box, Inc.; Naina Lal Kidwai, a non-executive director at LafargeHolcim Ltd.; and Jane Jie Sun, CEO of Trip.com. Ms. Lal Kidwai and Ms. Sun will join the council in January 2021.
