Standard Chartered to Offer Institutional Crypto Custody Solution In Ireland

​Fazzaco learned that Zodia Custody, a subsidiary of UK’s leading international banking group Standard Chartered which operates as an institutional grade custody solution for cryptocurrencies, has been working on a crypto custody offering for the institutional market and the first pilot was planned to launch later this year in Ireland.

Zodia Custody is reported to provide custody services for a wealth of cryptocurrencies, including BTC, BCH, ETH, XRP, and LTC. Furthermore, it will be open to clients from all over the world. Alex Manson, the head of SC Ventures, boasted that the firm would become one of the most secure crypto custody solutions on the market.

Zodia Custody was established by the British bank’s affiliate SC Ventures and Chicago-based financial service provider Northern Trust in late 2020, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The joint venture combines the two parent companies’ deep and multi market expertise as trusted custodians of traditional securities with the agility of a fintech set up to provide secure and innovative custody services for cryptoassets.

In late July, Fazzaco reported that SC Ventures and Northern Trust announced that Zodia has registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).​
