State Street Expands Presence in Latin America with New Office in Colombia

State Street Corporation (State Street), one of the world's leading financial services providers, has announced its expansion into Colombia, enhancing its ability to provide services to institutional clients throughout Latin America.
Andres Zambrano Burgl has been appointed to manage the new Colombia office and lead sales in the region. He will be based in Bogota and will report to Maria Ximena Vasquez, the Head of Sales for Latin America and The Caribbean (excluding Brazil) at State Street.
Marcia Rothschild, Head of Latin America and The Caribbean, said: "State Street's growth in the LatAm region is further solidified by this strategic expansion in Colombia. We look forward to strengthening relationships with our existing clients and expanding our outreach to new clients in the country. Andres is a strong leader who will take this new office in an exciting direction."
With over 17 years of experience in the Colombia and Latin America financial services sector, Zambrano joined State Street from Citibank, where he worked for nearly 9 years, holding several local and regional roles as product and country manager across the Latin America direct custody and clearing, and product development teams. Prior to Citi, he has served as Product Manager at BNP Paribas for more than a year.
Zambrano said: "I am eager to lead this new office and expand State Street's footprint in Colombia. This regional growth is only poised to continue across Latin America and I look forward to working with the team to provide the top-tier products and services clients have come to expect from State Street."
State Street began offering forex services in Brazil in 2021. Following the establishment of an office in Chile last October, the new office in Colombia further expands the firm's presence in Latin America.
