StoneX Group (StoneX), a diversified global brokerage and financial services company, announced the launch of institutional credit products in Asia, expanding the global debt capabilities of its fixed income group into the APAC region.

StoneX has set up a fixed income sales and trading desk in Singapore and has planed to expand into Australia and Hong Kong. The new Singapore-based unit will provide trading and execution advisory services to clients in the APAC region, facilitating cross-border trading across the credit sector.

The broker has hired Robert Hong, who was previously responsible for Asia credit and emerging markets trading operations at Cantor Fitzgerald and Deutsche Bank, to lead its APAC fixed income unit.

"Adding a strong fixed income offering in Asia is a significant step toward building a full-service, global, fixed income offering and advances our goal of providing global, 24-hour, fixed income trading," said Anthony Diciollo, Global Co-Head of Fixed Income at StoneX. "With the strength of our U.S. and EMEA offerings, it was a natural progression for us to utilize the geographical diversity of StoneX to further build in APAC. StoneX has a reputation for providing consistent liquidity across a robust array of fixed-income products and our new desk brings proven industry expertise that allows us to connect clients globally in a challenging market environment."

"The institutional credit offering is the latest in StoneX's expansion into the region, in keeping with the rollout of our trademark boots-on-the-ground perspective across global markets. We continue to leverage our decades of market expertise as well as the financial strength of StoneX Group, to unlock value for our clients and provide best-in-class service," commented Greg Kallinikos, CEO of StoneX in Asia.

StoneX's offering launch and executing expansion plans are supported by its sound financial position. According to the Q2 FY22 released by the broker, its total revenues jumped 46% to $16,382.7 million on a YoY basis, and its operating revenues showed a 16% year-over-year increase.
