Swissquote Chairman Dennler to Step Down; König Tapped as Successor
Swissquote has announced that Dr Markus Dennler, Chairman of the Board, will not seek re-election at the company’s 2026 Annual General Meeting. Dr Dennler has been a member of Swissquote’s Board since 2005 and Chairman since 2019. He will reach the company’s age limit in 2026. During his tenure, Swissquote’s market capitalisation increased more than tenfold.
The Board plans to propose Hans-Rudolf König for election as Chairman at the 2026 AGM. Mr König joined Swissquote’s Board in May 2025 and has over twelve years of experience as CEO of PostFinance.
Dr Dennler commented: “It has been a privilege to contribute to Swissquote’s remarkable growth in recent years. After more than twenty years on the Board, the time feels right to pass the torch.” Swissquote co-founder Marc Bürki added that Dr Dennler’s leadership and strategic guidance had been pivotal to the company’s development.
Mr König will attend year-end meetings with institutional shareholders alongside Dr Dennler to gain insight into the Chairperson role and support a smooth transition.
