Swissquote Expands Crypto Offering with Dogecoin

Switzerland’s leading bank in online financial services Swissquote has introduced Dogecoin to continue expanding its cryptocurrency offering. The latest addition varies the number of cryptocurrencies available to trade via Swissquote to 22.

The bank initiated the offering of cryptocurrencies for trading in July 2017 in partnership with Bitstamp. And since then, multiple cryptocurrencies have been added to its platform continuously. In October 2018 the bank also expanded the service to support its clients participating in initial coin offerings (ICOs) through the platform.

Launched in 2013, Dogecoin is an open source peer-to-peer digital currency, best famous for its funny appearance in one of the most famous internet memes, which features the impressive Japanese dog breed Shiba Inu. Now it is supported by a community of very active fans on social media.

In April, Swissquote announced the plan to continue expanding its cryptocurrency offering, so as to better meet client demand.
