Swissquote Ltd, the UK arm of Swiss financial services group Swissquote, reported a wider annual loss for 2025 as revenue declined and administrative costs rose. The results came despite additional financial support from its parent company after the year-end. In January 2026, Swissquote Group Holding Ltd injected £5 million into the UK business. A month later, the Financial Conduct Authority approved the company’s Variation of Permission application, expanding its regulatory permissions for new products and services.

Financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 showed gross turnover fell 39% to £320,921, while interest receivable and similar income dropped 53% to £188,670. Administrative expenses increased 17% to £2.27 million, widening the pre-tax loss by 52% to £1.76 million. A prior-period tax adjustment reduced the net loss to £1.70 million. The balance sheet also weakened during the year. Shareholders’ funds fell 40% to £2.48 million, client money held in segregated accounts declined 51% to £2.90 million, cash and cash equivalents stood at £4.91 million, and trade and other payables totalled £3.52 million, including £2.07 million owed to group undertakings.

The company capitalised £764,432 in software development costs for its GIA, ISA and SIPP trading platforms. The projects remained under development and had not yet been amortised. Its right-of-use asset became fully depreciated during the year, and lease liabilities were fully settled. Swissquote UK employed nine people, unchanged from a year earlier. Staff costs increased to £1.22 million, directors’ remuneration rose to £548,711, and share-based compensation expense declined to £36,971. No dividend was paid or proposed. The company said it is undertaking a restructuring programme “to return the business to profitability.” Swissquote UK operates on a matched-principal basis with Swissquote Bank Ltd, with all client trades matched back-to-back.
