Tech consultancy Levio adds Jean Royer and Benoit Boivin as managing partners

Levio, a Quebec City-based technology consulting firm, has welcomed Jean Royer and Benoit Boivin as managing partners.

Royer brings 30 years of experience as a finance executive and investment banker to Levio, where he will oversee the company’s mergers and acquisitions strategy.

Royer has deep expertise in leading teams across financial and risk management, mergers and acquisitions, financings, financial planning, corporate and business strategy, accounting, auditing, and corporate governance matters.

He joins Levio from Desjardins Financial Corporation and P&C Insurance, where he spent eight years as CFO and VP of finance. Before that, Royer served as VP of finance at Desjardins General Insurance Group and Cooperators General Insurance – Quebec. Prior to that he spent nine years at ad agency Cossette, where he was EVP and CFO. Earlier in his career, he was a VP in investment banking at Scotia Capital Marketing.

Royer holds an MSc in finance from Université de Sherbrooke and a BA in finance and accounting from HEC Montréal. He also holds CFA, CPA, and CMA certifications.

Founded in 2014, the company has seen explosive growth to 800 advisors across Quebec City, Montreal, Sherbrooke, Toronto, Chicago, Phoenix, and Rabat. Last year, Levio was named the second-fastest growing company in Canada, according to the Canadian Business Growth 500 ranking.

Meanwhile, Boivin brings 30 years of information technology management experience, with a focus on the civil service. At Levio, he will be tasked with further developing the firm’s digital transformation offering and its relationship with major clients.

Boivin previously served as chief information officer at the Treasury Board Secretariat of the Quebec provincial government. He also previously served as senior director of business intelligence at Desjardins, and general manager of the systems portfolio for jobs and social security at CSPQ.

He holds a BAC in information management from Université de Sherbrooke and a diploma in management from Université de Québec’s national school of public administration.
