The Funded Trader Struggles to Resolve Payout Delays as Client Backlog Grows

The Funded Trader (TFT), a proprietary trading firm, continues to face challenges in addressing its backlog of overdue client payouts, despite assurances made three months ago that final decisions would be announced by January 2025. Instead of resolutions, traders have been met with repeated promises and new repayment plans, while the number of affected clients has risen significantly.
According to a recent update from TFT, 1,272 clients are currently awaiting payouts, up from 900 reported at the end of November 2023. The firm has acknowledged the growing issue but has yet to implement a definitive solution, leaving many traders frustrated.
In an attempt to involve its community in the decision-making process, TFT recently conducted a survey on Discord, presenting clients with three options for handling the overdue payments, including "Prioritizing the largest payouts", "Equal monthly payments to all traders" and "A hybrid model – combining the first two options".
The survey results revealed a divided community, with 30% of votes favoring the first and third options, respectively, and 40% supporting the second option, which emphasizes equal treatment for all clients.
TFT CEO Angelo addressed the situation in a Discord post on February 28, taking responsibility for the firm's struggles. "Failing and having to start over has been incredibly tough, especially knowing how many people were affected," he said. "When TFT faced its downfall, we had nearly 100,000 active accounts. I could point fingers, but at the end of the day, the responsibility falls on me."
Angelo highlighted efforts to rebuild the firm, stating that approximately 80,000 accounts have been restored since the relaunch. He also expressed his commitment to resolving the payout issues, despite the challenges. "It would have been easier to walk away, but I chose to stay and move towards making things right," he said.
