Three Airwallex Executives Exit Tencent-backed Payments Group

Three Airwallex executives have quit the fast-growing payments group in the past fortnight, including its most senior Australian public relations officer.
Airwallex Australia general manager Luke Latham announced the changes in a series of Slack messages between December 18 and December 22.
In his messages, he said that enterprise sales executive Marco Grill had left the business on December 15 "to pursue other opportunities".
Matthew Sek, the company's vice president of SME and growth for Australia and New Zealand, "had decided 2024 will be a year of more balance and family focus".
Mr Sek will leave before the end of March.
Mr Latham also said corporate affairs director Nick Creevey would depart Airwallex on January 19. Mr Creevey was an adviser in the office of former prime minister Scott Morrison until the Coalition lost government in 2022.
"This time of year brings with us the opportunity to reflect," said Mr Latham. "For some of us, that means a new start in 2024, and one of the bittersweet things about working with a great team is that sometimes the great people move on to do other things."
