Thunes Appoints Former Worldpay Exec as New Compliance Chief

Thunes, the Singapore-based global payments network, has appointed Peter Cohen as its new Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). Effective immediately, Cohen will report to General Counsel Ruwan De Soyza and focus on strengthening the company's Fortress Compliance platform while supporting future growth.
With over 20 years of experience in the payments industry, Cohen has previously held senior roles at Worldpay, European Merchant Services, and Triodos Bank. Thunes CEO Floris de Kort expressed confidence in Cohen's expertise, saying it would "reinforce our efforts to offer secure and seamless payment solutions globally."
Kort and Cohen share a professional history, having worked together at Xplor Technologies from 2020 to 2023, where Kort served as CEO and Cohen as SVP of Enterprise Risk and Regulatory Compliance.
Founded in 2016, Thunes facilitates cross-border payments in 80 currencies across 133 countries and recently welcomed another ex-Worldpay executive, Sigrid Hulsebosch, as CFO.
