Tickmill Establishes Regional Hub in Oman Amid Middle East Expansion

CFD broker Tickmill has officially entered the Omani market as part of a broader push into the Middle East, positioning Muscat as a central hub for its regional operations. The move follows the formation of a strategic partnership with ProTrade Investments, with its Muscat office now serving as the local base for Tickmill's expansion.
The company, which holds licenses from regulators in the UK, Cyprus, and Seychelles, as well as recognition from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, sees Oman as a gateway to strengthen its regional presence.
"It is a testament to our long-term commitment to the Arab world," said Tickmill CEO Sudhanshu Agarwal. "We aim to support local traders with world-class tools, education, and service."
The Middle East has become increasingly attractive for CFD brokers, bolstered by a growing appetite for trading. Tickmill reported a 54% increase in trading volume from the MENA region in the first half of 2024, reaching over $135 billion.
While the UAE remains the primary market for many brokers due to its regulatory infrastructure and talent pool, Oman and other Gulf countries are emerging as secondary destinations. Many global brokers have also recently established presences in Kuwait and Oman. Despite its smaller population and lower per capita GDP compared to the UAE, Oman is now part of a broader regional play by international financial firms.
