TMX Group Posts 9.6% Monthly Increase in November Average Daily Volume

TMX Group Limited (TMX), the operator of four marketplaces including Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TSX Alpha Exchange and Montréal Exchange, has announced its aggregated trading statistics for November 2022, showing 9.6 percent MoM increase in its average daily volume (ADV).

For November 2022, TMX reported an ADV of 573.1 million contracts for all of its marketplaces, compared with last month's 523 million​. Total volumes increased to 12.6 billion from last month's 10.5 billion. Across a yearly interval, the total volumes decreased compared to the figures of 15.5 billion for November 2021.

In money terms, the total trading value of contracts for November 2022 averaged $11.4 billion per day, up from $10.7 billion in October 2022. Compared to the $11.7 billion in the same month in 2021, the ADV cash value in November 2022 reflected a 3 percent decrease.

On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the total turnover through November 2022 came in at 139.9 billion contracts , a decline of 21.4 percent from 177.9 billion in the last year.
