Tradeweb Appoints Rich Chun as Head of Asia to Drive Regional Growth

Tradeweb Markets has appointed Rich Chun as Managing Director and Head of Asia, expanding the electronic trading platform's leadership team as it seeks to deepen its footprint across the Asia-Pacific region.
Based in Hong Kong, Chun will oversee Tradeweb's business operations, client engagement, and strategic growth in Asia, reporting to Enrico Bruni and Troy Dixon, Co-Heads of Global Markets.
A veteran with more than 30 years in global fixed income and credit markets, Chun most recently served as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at HPS Investment Partners, where he established the firm's Hong Kong office. Prior to that, he held senior roles at Claren Road Asset Management and Citigroup, including Head of Credit Trading for Asia.
"Tradeweb's success has always been rooted in listening to our clients and helping them navigate evolving markets," said Enrico Bruni, noting that Chun's "strong track record in both portfolio management and execution" would be instrumental as the firm enters its next phase of regional growth.
Chun said he was "honoured to join Tradeweb at such a dynamic time for financial services in Asia," adding that he looks forward to "developing new technologies that help unlock new opportunities and efficiencies."
Tradeweb has steadily expanded its Asia-Pacific presence, with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo. It has played a key role in the electronification of Asian bond markets, having pioneered Northbound Bond Connect in 2017, followed by CIBM Direct Link (2020), Southbound Bond Connect (2021), and Swap Connect (2023).
More recently, in 2024, the firm collaborated with the Tokyo Stock Exchange to enhance liquidity access for Japan-listed ETFs, reinforcing its leadership in regional market connectivity and electronic trading innovation.
