Tradeweb Markets Sees 17.2% YoY Jump in September ADV

Online fixed income trading platform Tradeweb Markets has reported its trading volumes for September 2022, revealing a solid growth across many key metrics.
More specifically, Tradeweb Markets' total trading volume for September 2022 stood at $25.1 trillion, compared with the last month's $23.4 tn. Average daily volume (ADV) for the month came in at $1.20 trillion, up by 17.2 percent on a year-over-year basis. Average daily trades for the month reached 114,718. For the third quarter of 2022, total trading volume was $70.6 trillion and ADV was $1.10 trillion.
In September, U.S. government bond ADV for the company totaled $129.3 billion, a decrease of 3.8% YoY. European government bond ADV rose to $41.6 billion, up 20.8% compared to the prior year. Mortgage ADV was down 9.5% YoY to $162.1 billion.
Moreover, Swaps/swaptions ≥ 1-year ADV was $257.9 billion, and total rates derivatives ADV was $393.0 billion. Fully electronic U.S. Credit ADV hit $4.2 billion, while European credit ADV slipped to $1.7 billion. Municipal bonds ADV was up 121.4% YoY to $385 million. Credit derivatives ADV was up 30.9% YoY to $37.0 billion.
In addition, U.S. ETF ADV touched $7.6 billion, increased by 33.5% compared to the last year. European ETF ADV was up 5.8% YoY to $2.4 billion. Repurchase Agreement ADV was up 16.6% YoY to $381.2bn.
