Trading 212 Names Christos Drakos Head of Crypto

Brokerage firm Trading 212 is deepening its push into digital assets by appointing former Revolut executive Christos Drakos as its new Head of Crypto. Drakos will be based in Cyprus, where Trading 212 is building out its regulated crypto operations.
Drakos brings industry experience from Revolut, where he was Executive Director for over three years, and earlier roles at ETX Capital and ArgusFX. His appointment underscores Trading 212's ambition to scale its crypto services across the EU.
The move comes after the company secured a crypto asset service provider (CASP) license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. The license allows for crypto-to-fiat exchanges and custodial services, positioning Trading 212 among the European firms formally regulated to handle digital assets.
Trading 212 has also seen leadership changes this year. Following the departure of chairman Andrew Bole, who had guided the firm through international expansion since 2020, Gary Dixon took over the role. Dixon has been with the company for nearly four years as a non-executive director.
With Drakos in charge of crypto, the broker is expected to leverage its new regulatory footing to broaden its offerings beyond traditional stocks and CFDs, joining a wave of firms building compliance-driven digital asset businesses in Europe.
