Trading 212 Secures Crypto License in Cyprus

Fazzaco learned that online Forex and CFD brokerage Trading 212 Group Limited has been granted a a crypto asset service provider (CASP) license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
Trading 212 received the CASP license thorugh its local entity named Trading 212 Crypto Ltd on 20 May 2024, according to the registry of the CySEC. Trading 212 Crypto Ltd is separate from Trading 212 Markets Ltd, which holds a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) license.
The new license enables Trading 212 to provide exchanges between crypto assets and fiat currencies, along with custodial services for cryptocurrencies.
The brand generates revenue from three entities, in the UK, Cyprus and Bulgaria, respectively. Last month, Fazzaco reported that Trading 212 UK Limited, the FCA regulated entity of Trading 212 Group experienced a modest decline in activity and profitability during the full year of 2023, with revenues of £95.3 million.
