Trading.com Secures MiCA License from CySEC
Trading.com, the sister brand of CFD brokerage giant XM.com, has obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. A company spokesperson stated this milestone aligns with the firm's long-term European growth strategy and reflects a industry shift towards more regulated digital asset participation. The spokesperson added that crypto is seen as part of the evolution of modern investing, with clients seeking access to multiple asset classes through a single, trusted platform.
The license permits Trading.com to offer physical crypto services within the European bloc. The brand currently offers crypto CFDs to its European clients but does not offer them in its other markets, such as the UK and Australia. Trading.com joins other prominent firms like eToro, Revolut, and Capital.com in holding a MiCA license in Cyprus. The company emphasized Europe remains a strategically important market, believing the evolving regulatory landscape fosters innovation and sustainable growth. Other CFD brokers, including Pepperstone and IG Group, have also moved into physical crypto offerings.
