TransferGo appoints CTO in technology push

London-based money transfer FinTech TransferGo has appointed Edgardo Savoy as its new Chief Technology Officer in a move to drive innovation across its services.

Savoy has been hired to drive the company’s innovation roadmap to bring new service offerings to customers, the remittance firm said in an announcement.

At the company, Savoy will be responsible for over 60 engineers and expanding the customer offering to ensure anyone arriving in a new country has access to the same benefits as non-migrants.

The appointment comes as TransferGo reaches 2 million users and secures a $10 million investment. The boost will enable the expansion of its global footprint and allow the firm to continue to launch new services on its cross-border payments platform.

Savoy brings 25 years of product and technology experience to TransferGo, having previously held senior positions at Paddy Power and Lastminute.com. He has also led large scale global technology and product teams whilst working in South America, Europe and the UK.

In a comment, Savoy said: “I can’t think of a more exciting time to join TransferGo.”
