UK-Regulated Exante Unit Suspends New Client Onboarding and Deposits

LHCM, the UK-regulated entity of the Exante Group, has suspended the onboarding of new clients and stopped accepting deposits from existing customers. According to a notice published on LHCM’s website, the decision is voluntary and has been agreed with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The broker said the suspension covers activities involving client money or assets, including arrangements under the client assets regime, title transfer collateral arrangements, delivery-versus-payment transactions, and matched principal transactions. It added that the measures may also affect the opening of new trades.
LHCM noted that it was not accepting retail clients even before the latest suspension. The measures took effect on 22 December 2025. The company did not provide a timeline for the resumption of full services.
“We want to reassure you that your interests remain our highest priority and most services continue as normal,” the notice stated.
Outside the UK, Exante continues to onboard clients through its Cyprus-regulated entity and maintains operations in Malta and Hong Kong. The group also expanded its footprint last year with the opening of a new office in Dubai.
Exante is not the only broker to limit client onboarding in recent years. Admirals, a retail contracts for differences (CFDs) broker, suspended onboarding in the European Union in early 2024 before resuming the service about a year later.
At the same time, several established brands have reduced or exited their UK retail operations. Gain Capital, which operates Forex.com, has announced plans to surrender its FCA licence after shifting services to Dubai. Hirose and AETOS have also ceased offering retail services in the UK and other markets, retaining only limited operations in their core regions.
