US Spot Crypto ETFs Face Ongoing Outflows as Year-End Rebalancing Continues
US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs continued to see capital outflows on December 26, as investors adjusted positions ahead of the final trading week of the year. Data shows Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded net outflows of about 3,160 BTC on the day, extending a broader selling trend that has pushed total outflows above $825 million over the past five sessions.
Market observers attribute the pressure mainly to institutional de-risking, year-end portfolio rebalancing, and tax-loss harvesting. Thin holiday liquidity has also amplified daily flow movements. Despite the near-term weakness, analysts largely view the outflows as seasonal, noting that US crypto ETFs have still attracted more than $23 billion in net inflows over 2025, underscoring continued long-term institutional interest.
