Valutrades Cuts Losses in 2024 but Struggles to Regain Momentum

Valutrades, an FCA-regulated broker specializing in FX and CFDs, reported financial results for 2024 that show modest improvement over a difficult 2023, though the company remains far from profitability.
Revenues reached £1.94 million ($2.6 million) in 2024, up 27% from the previous year's £1.52 million. The growth represents a partial recovery after revenues collapsed by 77% in 2023. However, the figure still lags well behind the £6.5 million recorded in 2022.
The company posted a net loss of £2.59 million ($3.5 million), narrowing from the £3.82 million deficit in 2023. Even with the improvement, Valutrades has accumulated losses of £6.41 million over the past two years, significantly reducing its capital base and forcing shareholders to inject new funding.
Retail client funds held at the broker continued their downward trend, falling from £2.0 million in 2023 to £1.78 million in 2024. This marks a further drop from the £3.4 million reported in 2022, suggesting that client confidence and engagement remain under pressure.
Management described 2024 as a "challenging year," noting a decline in both client numbers and trading activity. Despite this, the company pointed to several achievements, including the launch of its first proprietary mobile app, a new website and client portal, a full rebrand, and significant reductions in operating costs.
Executives said they expect cyclical conditions to balance out over time and reaffirmed their commitment to a long-standing strategy dating back to 2016. That plan emphasizes technology investment and long-term growth over short-term profitability.
To bolster finances, shareholders injected £2.6 million into the company in 2024. They signaled ongoing support for Valutrades' strategy and expressed optimism about prospects for 2025.
