Weavr Promotes Jon Burrell as Deputy CEO to Drive Embedded Finance Growth

Weavr, a provider of Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions, has announced the promotion of Jon Burrell to the role of deputy CEO. Burrell, who previously served as the company's chief operating officer, will now work alongside CEO and co-founder Alex Mifsud to further develop Weavr's embedded finance platform.
The platform enables businesses to integrate financial services directly into their existing software products, offering solutions for employee benefits, expense management, accounts payable, and SaaS subscriptions. Weavr is backed by prominent investors, including Tiger Global, QED Investors, Anthemis, and Seedcamp.
"Today, most businesses store their data and build their workflows on SaaS, and increasingly they want their financial services to be part of these workflows," Burrell stated regarding his new role. "My goal at Weavr is to help realise our vision of making it easy and safe for B2B SaaS to embed financial features their customers need."
Burrell joined Weavr in September of the previous year, having previously held a "key role" in Codat's post-Series A fundraising. His prior experience also includes over four years at CurrencyCloud, where he held positions such as global VP of operations and head of compliance.
