WonderFi and Eightcap Plan Multi-Asset Trading Expansion
WonderFi Technologies Inc. has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Eightcap to expand trading services for its subsidiaries, Bitbuy and Coinsquare. The collaboration aims to introduce derivatives trading on multiple financial assets, including foreign exchange, indices, commodities, and select equities, through Eightcap’s infrastructure.
The agreement outlines that the new services will be offered as contracts for difference (CFDs), allowing users to trade on asset price movements without owning the underlying assets. Eightcap will provide trading technology, liquidity, and settlement services, integrating its Trading-as-a-Service (TaaS) solution, Embedded, into Bitbuy and Coinsquare platforms.
The implementation is subject to regulatory approvals in Canada and Australia, as well as the finalization of definitive agreements. Bitbuy’s Australian division, Bitbuy APAC, is also included in the planned rollout. The expected launch date for these services is set for the second half of 2025.
Bitbuy and Coinsquare have a combined user base of approximately 1.7 million. The partnership is expected to enable expanded access to financial markets within existing regulated platforms. Eightcap has been providing trading solutions since 2015 and operates as a regulated derivatives broker.
WonderFi oversees multiple digital asset services, with custody of over $2.4 billion in client assets. The company operates regulated trading platforms and provides blockchain-based financial services, including payments and decentralized products. The planned expansion aligns with its broader strategy to integrate traditional financial instruments with its existing digital asset offerings.
