The global leader in payment services Worldline on Wednesday disclosed that it has generated €1.1 billion in the first quarter of 2023, enjoying 9.2% organic growth over the last same period. This was contributed by the firm’s commercial acquiring activities benefiting from the underlying cash-to-card trend coupled with a strong operational performance materializing in commercial dynamics and market share gains.

Specifically, revenue derived from Merchant Services came in at €758 million, surging 12.6% from Q1 2022’s €673 million. Revenue from Financial Services was €228 million, up 2.3% on a yearly basis. Revenue from Mobility & e-Transactional Services remained unchanged, at €84 million.

"Based on this strong start of the year, the Group confirm its 2023 objectives and reaffirms its 2024 ambition as well as its strategic project to establish itself as a premium global Paytech and the leading consolidator of the European payment industry," commented Gilles Grapinet, CEO of Worldline.

In February, Fazzaco reported that Worldline’s annual revenue for 2022 enjoyed double-digit organic growth of 10.7% over the prior year to € 4.36 billion.
