XM, Bitget, Capital.com and Other Four Companies Are Hiring Now
In March, U.S. companies announced 90,309 job cuts, an increase of 7% from February, mainly due to store closures, bankruptcies, organizational restructuring or general cost-cutting, according to data released Thursday from executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
Behind mass layoffs, the rise of AI in finance is the key factor. According to a Business Insider report, incoming junior Wall Street analysts are at risk of losing their positions to AI-driven tools, with estimates suggesting cuts of up to two-thirds. Goldman Sachs predicts that about 300 million employees could be significantly impacted by AI, while McKinsey projects that AI could completely displace 12 million workers by 2030.
UK high street bank Lloyds Bank is downsizing its risk management department, with around 45 jobs being axed. The bank sees the department as a "blocker" to its "strategic transformation".
As companies navigate the integration of AI into their operations, more layoffs are expecetd in the future.
The current employment environment remains far from ideal.
