Yeahka Integrates Alipay and WeChat Pay into HSBC’s Merchant Payment System
Yeahka has expanded its cooperation with HSBC by incorporating multiple mobile payment methods—Alipay, AlipayHK, and WeChat Pay—into HSBC Digital Merchant Services. The integration is aimed at improving the range of digital payment options available to Hong Kong-based merchants using the HSBC system.
According to its 2024 financial disclosure, Yeahka’s peak daily transaction count for app-based payments approached 60 million. The company has also developed a sizable partnership network, including over 6,000 SaaS collaborators and around 160 banking institutions. Its acquiring capabilities are supported by approximately 17,000 independent sales organizations, enabling broader distribution of its services.
In addition to domestic capabilities, Yeahka has joined global card networks such as Visa, MasterCard, and UnionPay International as an institutional member, providing merchants with cross-border card acceptance features.
HSBC Digital Merchant Services operates as a unified payment solution that allows merchants to manage multiple digital payment methods under a single service contract. By including Alipay and WeChat Pay, the system enables Hong Kong merchants to access payment channels widely used by mainland Chinese consumers.
Market projections from Payments & Commerce Market Intelligence (PCMI) suggest that Hong Kong’s e-commerce transaction value could reach HKD 240 billion by 2027, with digital wallets expected to represent more than 60% of that volume.
Yeahka, originally focused on card-based payments, has continued diversifying its offerings, including digital wallet integration and AI applications. The collaboration with HSBC reflects a strategic approach to embedding localized Chinese payment rails into broader international merchant services frameworks.
