Zama and T-REX Network Introduce Privacy Layer for Institutional Tokenized Assets

Zama and T-REX Network have launched a new privacy layer aimed at accelerating institutional adoption of tokenized assets. The infrastructure allows financial institutions to issue and manage tokenized real-world assets while keeping sensitive transaction details, investor identities, and portfolio positions confidential.
At the system's core is fully homomorphic encryption, enabling computations on encrypted data without decryption. This allows smart contracts and transactions to execute while maintaining data privacy throughout their lifecycle. The layer integrates with T-REX's ERC-3643-based tokenization stack, embedding compliance features like identity verification and transfer restrictions directly into assets.
This combination addresses a key blockchain trade-off, letting institutions operate on public or multi-chain networks without exposing proprietary data, while regulators maintain oversight. The launch coincides with growing institutional momentum, highlighted by Apex Group's adoption of the T-REX Ledger as its default multi-chain infrastructure.
Apex Group, servicing over $3.5 trillion in assets, will use the ledger to manage ownership records and compliance across blockchains, targeting $100 billion in tokenized assets by 2027. The T-REX Ledger acts as a neutral compliance layer, synchronizing investor identity and rules across networks to prevent fragmentation. Together, these technologies tackle major institutional barriers to blockchain: data confidentiality and regulatory clarity.
