Refinitiv Posts 4.7% Monthly Decrease in FX Trading ADV for November 2022

Refinitiv, the former Financial and Risk business of Thomson Reuters and one of the world's largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure, has released its trading data for November 2022, showing that its average daily volumes (ADV) of currency trading reached the lowest this year, apart from September.
Specifically, the ADV of currency trading came in at $428 billion in November, fell by 4.7% on a monthly basis, slightly higher than the weakest in two years, $413 billion in September.
FX trading volumes across Refinitiv Matching and FXall platforms was $428 billion, a decrease of 4.9% compared to the previous month's $449 billion and essentially unchanged from the $430 billion in the same period last year.
The firm's spot FX volume, which is still partly owned by Thomson Reuters, was $96 billion, down 4% from $100 billion in October and up 9.1% compared with $88 billion a year earlier.
Volume in other transaction types, including forwards, swaps, options and non-deliverable forwards (NDFs), hit a three-month low point, with ADV slipping to $332 billion, down 5% compared to $349 billion in the previous month.
