A Dynamic Report of 32 Executive Moves of 26 Brokers, Fintechs & Crypto Firms Since Sept 2023

The calendar has turned to November 2023, and Fazzaco has been continuously following the executive moves of various brokers and fintech companies in the financial sector, as well as some crypto firms.
In this article, we present a statistical analysis of the executive movements in the forex / crypto market from September 2023 to date (November 7). The data shows that the executive moves in the industry since September have still shown a trend of mainly hiring, less internal promotions compared to the previous months, and the overall situation still highlights the industry's stable business expansion.
Hiring vs. Promotion vs. Leaving
By filtering the Fazzaco News database, the data in this article uses a total of 25 news under the Executive Moves tag reported by Fazzaco since September 2023, involving 32 people across 26 companies.
From the perspective of company type, it is divided into three categories for statistics: namely, brokers (16); fintechs (7); and crypto firms (3). such classification is far from accurate for certain firms operate astride more fields, providing both trading as well as B2B tech solutions. Moreover, we did not include executive changes in large financial institutions that provide pan-financial services.
We categorized the personnel movements as follows:
Internal promotion: 1 person, from 1 broker;
External hiring: 22 people, of which 9 are from 9 brokers, 12 are from 7 fintechs, and 1 is from a crypto firm;
Leaving/job-hopping: 9 people, of which 6 are from 6 brokers, 3 are from 2 crypto companies (of which 5 are job-hoppers, so they are also counted among the 22 hires).

Therefore, from the above chart, we can roughly infer the following data distribution (as shown below): In the industry executive movements from September to early November 2023, 68.75% are hires, 3.13% are promotions, and the remaining 28.12% either left or / and hopped jobs.
By company type, brokers have seen 9 people hired, 1 person promoted, and 6 people left/jumped; the executive moves in the fintechs were relatively simple, and all 12 people were hired. Among the 4 moves in the crypto firms, 3 left and 1 was hired.

Executive Moves Worth Noting
In the crypto community, the firm that has the most moves is still Binance, which is in a regulatory dilemma in many countries. This month, the exchange continued to have multiple executives leave. On October 19, Binance France President David Prinçay posted on X, confirming that Stéphanie Cabossioras had resigned as the executive director of Binance France, becoming at least the 10th executive to leave Binance this year. In October, Fazzaco learned that Binance UK business head and Bifinity CEO Jonathan Farnell resigned as the senior compliance officer of Binance Europe in June this year, and then stepped down as the CEO of Binance UK subsidiary Binance Markets Limited (Binance UK) in September.
On the other hand, Devexperts, a fintech company that provides software solutions for stock and forex brokers and crypto exchanges, is expanding its business development team in London. Michael Ambite, Paul Tavares and Brian James have joined Devexperts and will serve as vice presidents of sales and business development together with Heetesh Rawal.
