Afterpay Expands Partnership with Adyen to Fuel Global Growth

Adyen, the global financial platform of choice for leading companies, and Afterpay, one of the leader in in Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), have announced an expanded partnership yesterday.
Afterpay is collaborating with Adyen to process payments across key markets including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, the US, and the UK to grow its global presence and momentum, according to the official press release.
"Holiday season 2021 was the holiday for BNPL - with consumers using Afterpay to pay responsibly for their holiday gifts," said Zahir Khoja, General Manager, Afterpay Global Platform and Partnerships. "Our partnership with Adyen is allowing us to bring a better way to pay to millions of shoppers across multiple regions around the world."

The two companies have started their payment partnership since 2018. Currently, various Adyen's merchants deliver Afterpay's installment payments, and Afterpay is available to Adyen merchants in the UK, France, Italy and Spain.
Last April, Fazzaco reported that Afterpay has teamed up with Adyen to offer its BNPL service to the latter's retailers. On top of Afterpay, last month, Adyen has inked a partnership with Amazon Japan to help process payments. The cooperation enables Amazon Japan to further optimize the payment data and checkout experience for its Japanese customers.
