Citi to Appoint Stuart Staley as Global Head of Forex, Replacing Itay Tuchman
Fazzaco learned that Itay Tuchman, Citigroup Inc's global head of foreign exchange, plans to step down after over 20 years of service at the U.S. bank. Itay will be replaced by company veteran Stuart Staley, effective immediately.
According to an internal memo seen by Reuters, Itay leaves the bank to seek other opportunities outside.
Itay started his career at Citi where he headed FX businesses across various regions of the bank since 2004 and became Global Head of Forex in 2007.
Stuart Staley, with over 18 years at Citi from 2004, innitially led Commodities businesses for the group. In 2018, he was promoted to Head of APAC Markets & Securities Services. Befor joining Citi, Stuart held learship positions in other industries. His career began in 1990.
Most recently, the multinational investment bank and financial services corporation has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Banking Veteran Aveline San as Hong Kong and Macau Chief Executive and Chafic Haddad as Global Head of Fintech Sales.
Meanwhile, Citigroup Global Markets, an indirect subsidiary of the group, was fined £12,553,800 by FCA for failing to properly implement the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) trade surveillance requirements relating to the detection of market abuse.
