CME Group Registers 9% Increase in Revenues for Q3 2023

CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, has released its financial results for the third quarter of 2023 (Q3 2023), showing that it delivered its ninth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth in adjusted earnings per share.
The group generated $1,337.8 million total revenue for Q3 2023, an increase of 9.0% from $1,227.8 million in Q3 2022. Meanwhile, total expenses grew 5.8% year-over-year to $517.6 million.
Operating Income during this period reached $820.2 million, rising 11.0% from the year-ago quarter's $738.8 million. Income before income taxes was up 10.7% to $974.3 million.
The quarterly net income and net income attributable to common shareholders of CME Group stood at $750.2 million and $740.8 million, respectively, both up 10.4% on a yearly basis.
Diluted EPS climbed from $1.87 to $2.06. Total liabilities and equity declined from $174,175.7 million to $125,598.2 million.
Early this month, Fazzaco reported that CME Group unveiled an average daily volume (ADV) of 22.7 million contracts in September, recording the Group's second-highest September ADV. ADV for Q3 2023 came in at 22.3 million contracts, the second-highest Q3 volume recorded by the company.
