Coinbase Applies Registration as Futures Commission Merchant with NFA
Fazzaco learned that Coinbase Global Inc. has applied for a registration as Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) with the United States National Futures Association (NFA).
The company is registering as Coinbase Financial Markets Inc.
Via its Twitter feed, the company disseminated the following message: "Today, Coinbase filed an application with the NFA to register as an FCM → Futures Commission Merchant. This is the next step to broaden our offerings and offer futures and derivatives trading on our platforms".
In August, Fazzaco reported that Coinbase has appointed Kate Rouch, former Facebook Global Head of Brand and Product, as the company's new Chief Marketing Officer. Additionally, the company has selected Solarisbank - Europe's leading Banking-as-a-Service platform's know-your-customer (KYC) solutions to compliantly identify customers in Germany.
